Reflecting on our group starting objectives
Our original intentions for the piece were to portray a pedestrian, paranoid and anxious theme at the beginning of the piece, then an atmosphere of frustration and chaos, to disconnect and a sense of unfamiliarity and to end the piece the audience should feel relief and calm. These we’re all the feelings we still want the audience to experience, we also want other intentions such as the theme of schizophrenia and slowly losing your mind to clearly come across.

I believe that we achieved our original intentions well because we showed a battle between the schizophrenia and the mind as well as a solo that focussed on the paranoia that comes with schizophrenia. Even though there was choreography that expressed the theme well, there were definitely sections where we could’ve replaced choreography that didn’t involve enough meaning as I felt it didn’t hold enough intention. It became quite clear that as a group we were very polite with each other’s ideas and we needed to be more honest and assertive amongst each other to grasp the best outcome for our piece. This is something that I’ve learnt from this project and will encourage me to take more risks in adapting choreography and putting ideas forward with confidence.
